ECO DAY

iSea, Eco Diving Center and the Municipality of Heraklion are co-organizing the next Eco Day in the form of a #zeroplastic diving centers day-lecture on Sunday, March 22 2020 at 10:00 in the Androgeo Hall in Heraklion.

The topic of discussion is how to reduce the use of plastic in the diving sector and invites any interested diving center, individually any professional or recreational diver, to participate for free.

iSea’s #zeroplastic program is an awareness raising campaign against plastic debris and microplastics in the Greek seas.

Diving centers host thousands of visitors annually. Their financial sustainability depends on the sustainability of the marine environment. In addition, divers are highly connected to the marine environment and willing to contribute to its protection. Thus, the campaign will maintain its twofold approach aiming to raise awareness about the issue both through events and direct actions.

This year’s campaign aims not only to inform diving centers and their visitors about the issue of aquatic waste, but mainly to actively involve diving centers in reducing plastic waste as part of their activities.
